Aug 8, 2006 : SJR Changes Name To SharkSpace

📅 August 8, 2006 - Web hosting provider SJR Hosting (SJRHosting.com) announced on Monday it has changed its company name to SharkSpace (SharkSpace.com ) and has launched a new Web site.

SJR Hosting decided to make the name change because it considered the name SharkSpace more brandable. The company ran a survey of 100 people inquiring which of the two equal companies they would sign up with - SJR Hosting or SharkSpace - based on the name alone. The results showed 89 percent in favor of SharkSpace.

"SJR Hosting built a very respectable name for itself over the years, but this name change was needed to take the company to the next level," says Scott Jones, SJR Hosting CEO. "With the new name SharkSpace should be able to go to the next level where we can provide our customers with every feature that will make their hosting experience reliable, fast and easy to use. The name change is only the start of the new exciting things to come."

In addition to the name change, SharkSpace will offer an improved, more reliable hosting environment and live sales chat. The company also announced plans to add live 24 hour support chat in the upcoming months.
