) has announced the availability of its Enterprise Cloud services to customers throughout Europe, providing European customers a true, multinational cloud infrastructure that is connected to Terremark's Network Access Point of the Americas in Miami and its NAP of the Capital Region near Washington DC.

Terremark's Enterprise Cloud is a managed cloud computing platform for mission-critical applications and IT infrastructure, which has been recently chosen by the US General Services Administration to power the US federal government's official web portal, USA.gov (usa.gov).

According to Terremark's Tuesday announcement, Europeans will now be able to dynamically provision, configure, deploy and manage servers from a pool of dedicated computing resources using an easy-to-use web application. Customers can choose from a variety of pre-configured server roles across Microsoft Windows, Linux and Sun Solaris operating systems.

"The availability of Enterprise Cloud services to our customers in Europe provides them with an innovative and powerful solution to their IT infrastructure needs," Terremark Europe chief technology officer Kurt Glazemakers said in a statement. "By purchasing a dedicated resource pool of processing, memory and storage, the Enterprise Cloud offers our customers more flexibility and agility over the traditional server based model, allowing for a precise and dynamic allocation of computing resources as needed."

The Enterprise Cloud backs its scalable and agile cloud computing software with world-class data center and computing infrastructure and access to more than 160 global networks.

"As we continue to expand the availability of the Enterprise Cloud across our global data center footprint, we are able to offer our customers worldwide a 'true cloud' solution for their IT infrastructure needs," Terremark Worldwide chairman and CEO Manuel D Medina said in a statement. "Based on the Enterprise Cloud's success in the US and existing demand for enterprise-class cloud computing services in Europe, we expect strong demand for the Enterprise Cloud from our current customers and prospects in Europe."

Terremark will be demonstrating the Enterprise Cloud at VMWorld Europe 2009 from February 24 to 26 at The Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

In January, Terremark upgraded its Enterprise Cloud, adding Dynamic Capacity Management, which gives customers access to on-demand computing capacity with greater flexibility with its "burst mode" that lets clients access additional processing and memory resources as needed, handing spikes in traffic.
