New Edge Networks to Provide Data Services to Ameritech Customers

📅 - New Edge Networks (newedgenetworks.com), a data and broadband communications service provider, announced yesterday a multi-year agreement to provide inter-LATA frame relay and ATM data services to SBC Ameritech (ameritech.com) customers.

The new complementary carrier agreement minimizes the business andoperational issues that arise from having multiple carriers install andmaintain a customer's wide area data network, the company said. It enablesSBC to act as a single point of contact for ordering data communicationsservices such as frame relay and ATM networking services within SBC's13-state region, and also nationally and internationally.
"Our agreement with SBC represents a substantial new business opportunityfor New Edge Networks in the SBC Ameritech region and builds on along-standing relationship our two companies have," said Dan Moffat,president and CEO of New Edge Networks.
New Edge Networks had been providing complementary frame relay and ATMservices to SBC customers in Pacific Bell and Southwestern Bell territoriessince 1996. The new agreement covers the five Midwest states served by SBCAmeritech.
