We have been using your hosting service for so many years and Gearhost unauthorized billing our credit card over $ 6168.85. Even though Ryan Kekos acknowledged the problem and promised to reimburse, we have had no response from the Gearhost administration for a month. 😠 The Worst Hosting Company We Have Ever Used
This is the worst hosting company I have ever dealt with. My sites are constantly going down and recently the idiots let my server go down for over 2 weeks while they "migrated" without any eta... Only when I blasted them on Facebook did they do anything about it, but I still cannot access my account and even though the sites are back up, the styling on all of them is off because the WordPress theme options are not registering. I think it is probably a PHP.ini security setting the idiots have pre-configured without knowing what they are doing, but until I can access my account I won't know. The dumbest thing I ever did was trying out this hosting company. Oh... And how can I forget. After using their service for a couple months they raised the cost of the hosting by 400% without notice... Just a draft from my bank for four times as much...

I was using gearhost for a few years, and recently when I was ill and didnt get to my manual renewals, it lapsed 3 months. When i cam back to start again, gearhost told me to pay the past 3 months as they had been backing up my databse and files. I told them but my webiste was down the whole time, and backing up a shared server should not involve any extra work. So they agreed to let me just pay the current month and they would restore my website and databse. As soon as i paid, i noticed the site wasnt up, so i emailed them again. and then they told me upon review, they realized my databse was gone. My point is why they didnt say that before they asked me to pay again, and why they said i would need to pay before they could restore my site and databse. At the very least they didnt check before they asked me to pay. And if its true they deledted my database after 3 months (which just expired very recently, why have then been sending me daily emails since yesterday about credit card [read more...]

😞 Don't Do It!!
Gearhost has promised 100% uptime for years yet I can't even get over 95% uptime because they always have something that isn't working. They are alway "working to improve" their systems to they can keep their promise of 100% uptime and in the meantime I lose money and customers because their services go down. And don't try to get refunded for the down time - Ryan doesn't like to let go of your money once you give it to him.

😁 This host is absolutely wonderful! I've had my website with them since late 2000 when my first domain host (a reseller who had an account with them) sold his business out to them. They didn't have a plan quite like what the reseller they bought out did but they grandfathered my account with the same cost and terms as I had been under.
They have always been quick to respond to inquiries and/or customer service "tickets" opened up. The staff personally interacts with customers and visitors on their company's message boards. They have been mindful of alternative operating systems (read: operating systems other than Micro$oft Windows) that their customers might be using when implementing server software changes; the most notable instance was when they delayed the launch of their new e-mail server software because it did not work well with e-mail applications other than Outlook and Outlook Express on Windows.
